Cancer researchers and science communication - IACR 2016

It was a great pleasure to talk to attendees at the Irish Association for Cancer Research's annual conference in Cork on the 24th of February. A fascinating evening - so many lovely, clever people working to increase our understanding of cancer and how to cure it. On a personal level it meant a lot, I'm a beneficiary of cancer research. On a professional level, encouraging researchers to communicate effectively with the general public is such an important thing to do. Communication is no longer a soft skill or an extra. Good communication is essential to the future of research. Thanks to BREAST-PREDICT for inviting me.
